The Qur’an is a complete guide to life. The Qur’an is a book of humanity that must be understood by all human beings.
The Quran (sometimes spelled Qur’an or Koran) is considered the most important holy book among Muslims. It contains some basic information that is found in the Hebrew Bible as well as revelations that were given to Muhammad. The text is considered the sacred word of God and supersedes any previous writings.05-Jan-2018
The world Qur’an literally means or recitation .Quran is designated in Arabic Al Furqan, (distinguisher).kalam Allah (the words of god), kutub (the book) nur (the light) and al Huda (the guidance) and al dhikr (the reminder)
Qur’an is an Islamic Education
Islamic education aims at discovering and formulating Allah‘s will. Ahmed Hassan (1982, p: 43) writes “the primary purpose of the Quran is to lay down a way of life which regulates the relationship of a man with man and his relationship with god. Quran indicates basic principles that lead a Muslim to observations of the universe and nation where he can find the answer too many questions by his own efforts as observations and study are the basis of all knowledge to formulate realistic approach about the surroundings according to the changing circumstances in all ages and climes.
Qur’an is not a Book of Science
Quran is not a book of science or any other particular field of knowledge but it deals mainly with basic principles of human life. Therefore, Quranic concepts of education is that it explicitly teaches its reader principles in each and sphere of life so that its followers have complete knowledge about their pattern of life. Quran, is the fountain head of wisdom, from which all other sources of knowledge derive their authority. It consists of very words of Allah, revealed on prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in twenty three years first in Makkah and completed Madina. The holy Quran says, “this day have I perfected for you, your religion completed my favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion”.
Islamic Education System, comprises of the following principles:
1. Belief in the oneness, immateriality, absolute power, mercy and supreme compassionate of the creator.
2. Charity and brotherhood among mankind.
3. Subjugation of passions.
4. The outpourings of a grateful heart to the giver of good.
5. Accountability of human actions in another existence.
6. Developing a sense of social consciousness i.e. enjoying what is right and forbidding what is wrong.
The Qur’an, Hadith and Modern Science
The Qur’an does not constitute the sole source of doctrine and legislation in Islam. During Muhammad’s life and after his death information of a legislative nature was indeed sought in the study of words and deeds of prophet.
These came from the oral tradition, those who under took to assemble them in collections made the kind of inquiries which are always very taxi before recording accounts of past events. They never bless had a great regard for accuracy in their arduous task of collecting information this is illustrated by a fact that for all of the prophet sayings, the most venerable collections always bear the names of those responsible for the account, going right back to the person who first collected the information from the members of Muhammad’s family or his companions.
The first collections were made in the public in the decades following Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’deaths
A very large number of collections of the prophet’s words and deeds thus appeared under the title of Hadiths the exact meaning of this word is utterances but it is also customary to use it to mean the narrations of his deeds. The first collections were made in the public in the decades following Muhammad deaths. Those that appears in the first century after him where relatively restrain in the range of facts recorded. Over two hundred years where to pass before the most important collections were appeared. It must be stated there for that the words nearest to Muhammad’s time do not appear to give the most complete account.
Collection of Al-Bukhari, and Muslim
This was in fact given by the collection of Al-bukhari, and Muslim. Which date from over 200 years after Muhammad’s and which provide a must wider and most trust worthy account .In recent year a bilingual Arabic /English addition has been provided by doctor Muhammad Mushin khan of the Islamic university of Madina.AL-Bukharis work is generally regarded as the most authentic after Qurans and was translated into French .1903-1914 by Houdas and Marcious under the title less traditions islatific these are the only Hadith to have been dealt with into his study.
